{ I decided to break up the posts into two days because we took a lot of photos! }
We had a very busy Easter weekend. Tim and I were so exhausted by Sunday night, I swear I felt like I was going to just die...thankfully after some tylenol, food and lots of water I felt much better! (I forget that I am 30 weeks pregnant and running after 4 toddlers, ect...until it's too late and I feel the effects!) We were very lucky to have Tim off this weekend so he could join us in all our family festivities. We love when he works (for the overtime) but it's so nice when we actually have family plans that he can join us and create those special memories with us as a family. I wouldn't give anything for the fun times we have as a complete family!
So on Saturday there were a bunch of Easter festivities going on around town and I thought I had decided on where I wanted to go but then I found somewhere else that looked better and was completely free. Free is great, especially with four kids in tow!
So we wound up going to Harry Grove Stadium where the Frederick Keys play baseball, which is only a couple minutes from our house. Tot2Tweens was sponsoring a day at the stadium with lots of freebies and an egg hunt.
(Quick story - On the way to the stadium, Tammy and I were in our car and we came to a red light and all of the sudden we heard this "shhhhh" sound like something was deflating. We were both trying to figure out what it could be. There was this mist/smoke that was coming up from the very back of the car, behind the girls seats and we were both like, what the heck is that!?!?! I had bought some spray paint the night before but I had taken it into the house, I was sure of that. We both couldn't figure out what it was and it was freaking me out. The girls started coughing and their eyes were getting more and more red by the seconds. I was in a lot of traffic at a red light and I was panicking! We rolled all the windows down immediately. As soon as I got through the light, I pulled over immediately and we opened up all the doors and immediately when I opened the back window and realized it was the bug spray in the back that had been pressed down from the stroller on top of it. SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF US, LET ME TELL YOU! We threw everything in a trash bag and since we were five seconds from the stadium, we just left the windows down (thank goodness it was a sunny, bright and warmer morning) and everyone was fine! My blood pressure was a little raised but I was thankful we were all okay!)
On our way into the stadium, we saw the huge line...phew! Luckily it didn't take too long to get in. Once we did, they gave out a big bag of coupons and such, and a ticket for a free hot dog and soda! Super awesome, and I even packed the girls lunches/snacks. We also got lots of free samples and bags of chips. There were lots of vendors offering samples and coupons, such as a local spa painting little girls (or anyone) nails. It was so sweet.
All the games and rides were free too, so we headed to the carousel first. We only had to wait in line a few minutes and were on! I swear I have never seen Claire smile so big for so long! The girls loved it and I thought their would be a major meltdown from at least one of them when we had to get off, but nope, they were totally fine and I was super happy about that.
Once we finished with the ride, we walked around some more, but with the increasing crowds, it became really hard to do so. We parked our choo-choo and Tim stayed with it and held Emme, so Tammy and I could take the big girls down for the Easter Egg Hunt. They brought about 200 2-year-olds down to an area of the field and made them WAIT until it was 11am, which is when it started. I know this was a somewhat efficient way to do things so everyone could participate, but if it had better organization, I would recommend not bring down 200 2-year-olds in front of thousands of eggs and then telling them they have to WAIT for 15 minutes to touch anything! Yeah, none of those people must have much experience with 2-year-olds and their attention span, or telling a 2 year old to "WAIT" or "we can't touch those yet"....yeah, doesn't work so well. That was a long 15 minutes. And then the egg hunt was over in less than a minute, since there were so many kids. All those eggs suddenly disappeared in a few seconds.
All in all it was still fun and Claire got the most eggs. All I had to say was "clean up the eggs" and they all went to work! It was so cute!
After the egg hunt, we finally made it back to Tim and Emily and decided to head out to the picnic tables to feed the girls lunch and then Tammy and Tim went back in to get all our hot dogs and sodas while I fed the girls. It worked out pretty good but I was so ready for them to get back when they did. I was running out of creative ideas to keep them all entertained. We shoved down our hot dogs and off we went to the car.
It was a little after 1pm and we had a birthday party to go to at 3pm in Poolesville, so my plan was to just let the girls sleep in the car. Yeah, not so much. Well, Emily and Natalee were out cold before we even left the parking lot. We just emptied out some things at the house and got gas before heading to Poolesville. Since we were still a little early we went over to my parents house for a few minutes to visit and then headed to the party.
We were celebrating William's 2nd Birthday at Shannon and Brad's new farm house! I was so excited to see their new farm and it is beautiful! The girls got to play outside and run, run, run. We had ice cream and enjoyed the party so much!
Emily is ALMOST walking on her own!
Claire was obsessed with this fire truck and the lawn mower!
Natalee was obsessed with William's new jeep!
Love this photo of my littlest triplet!
There goes Claire. We were constantly running after her!
Shannon snapped this photo of us all before we left and it turned out pretty good!

By the time we got home, we fed the girls a little dinner, (they ate a lot at the party so they weren't really hungry) and we gave baths and put them to bed. They slept so good, as most nights they do, and I literally couldn't move. I was so weak and tired. I knew I hadn't drank my normal amount of water that I am used to and hadn't ate enough food, so I finally mustered the strength to eat, take some tylenol and drink a bunch of water and I felt much better. Needless to say, the whole house was asleep pretty early!
So glad for a wonderful family day outdoors! Next up, Easter Sunday!
I can't believe how grown up Emily looks these days. You have 4 beautiful little ladies and they a lucky girls to have you.
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine the attention you all must get with the wagon! The family photo is cute . . . I'm impressed that everyone is looking in the general direction of the camera!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if you were the pregnant woman in the photos. We haven't seen any photos of that belly yet! I love your family picture!
