Weekend Re-Cap and LMC Picnic

We had a wonderful weekend! It always goes so fast!

On Saturday, I wanted to go out with my mom for the evening, so Tim took care of the girls while I enjoyed a nice time out to the outlets and dinner with my Mom. Tim got the girls up from nap, played with them, fed them dinner, gave them all baths and put them to bed before I got home! I was impressed. He cleaned up the kitchen and did all my nightly chores. I must say, I was super excited when I walked in. Not many men can take care of four little girls with no help! I think he is just wonderful and I am so thankful for such a caring and loving father for my girls.

On Sunday, I took the triplets to my dad's company picnic. He works for Lockheed Martin in Bethesda, which is their headquarters. Every year since I was two years old we have gone to the picnic and so it's always a day that I really look forward to! Last year it was at the National Zoo (Oh my they were so little!!), and it was the first year it was some place different than Smokey Glen Farm, where it has been for decades. The zoo was horrible. It was a Friday night in DC, with LOTS of traffic and a night at the zoo was just dumb planning, since almost all the exhibits were closed. The line for food was super long and it was all and all a stupid idea. I know a lot of my dad's co-workers read my blog and I just want to say that I was one happy girl to have it back at Smokey Glen Farm..where it should STAY!

The girls had a BLAST! They got to see the clowns, jump on boon bounces, get balloon animals, watch big bubbles, dance and clap to music, play and swing at the park, eat lots of yummy food, and ride the ponies. My heart may have skipped some beats when I saw my girls ridding the ponies all by themselves!!! I remember riding the ponies as a young child and I have countless photos of myself at the picnic doing so, so when I got to see my girls up there...oh boy, it was almost too much to handle. I am so thankful to be able to have them do the same! I just couldn't get enough of it!

Claire ate so much food, I thought she was going to explode! She ate half my dad's hamburger, two ice cream sandwiches, some of a pretzel, 3 pieces of corn on the cob, some pie, chicken, and probably some other stuff! Anything my dad had, Claire and Natalee wanted, and they would both follow him, signing "more". Madelynn ate so much corn on the cob! She would eat all of hers and then go after her sisters! It was so funny!

They LOVED all the music and didn't stop dancing!!!! I love that they have such wild personalities and are not shy at all!

Swinging and playing at the park!

They loved watching the balloons be made into elephants and giraffes!

And jumping on the moon bounce with all the other little kids!

Meeting "Bubbles" the clown was fun too and she gave out stickers!

And all the bubbles...They loved chasing after the BIG bubbles and constantly kept saying, "bubbles" over and over! They are getting so big!!!

They also loved seeing and sitting in the fire truck! They all wanted a turn to drive!

LOVE this photo!!!

Such a fun fall weekend!!

  1. It sounds like you had a great weekend! It also sounds like you have a super husband! How fantastic you can have a night out and not have to worry. I'm always amazed at how much food little ones eat sometimes, there tiny tummies don't seem big enough to hold it all!

  3. Hi, I have been reading your blog for some time now! Your girls are so cute, just adorable! Just wondering where Smokey Glen Farm is? I live just outside of DC and I have never heard of it. I would love to take my 2 year old there :) Looks like a blast!
