When I was a kid, there were so many things that my parents did with my sister and I, either all together or with us each individually. I am so glad for all the wonderful memories that we continue to make as a family and I am so looking forward to doing things with my daughters through the years.
I can't wait to take them shopping - it's at the top of the list! I always had so much fun shopping with my Mom (and still do), it's so fun to give advice on what looks good and look for the best bargains around. Plus, Mom always buys lunch! :)
I can't wait to have three little girls on stools with little aprons helping me mix cookie dough at Christmastime. Oh, the fun. I so hope I have a little chef in one of them!
I can't wait to watch them exploring new places. Taking them to different museums downtown or parks for just a "Mommy and Me Day"...those were always the best. My mom and I would go to DC each summer to spend the whole day going to museums and the different places we always loved in the city. We especially love the National Arboretum and walking along the monuments on a hot summer day in the Nation's capital.
After doctors appointments, sometimes my mom would take me to get ice cream just because, that was always fun, I can't wait to do the same with the girls.
I can't wait to play dress-up and have tea parties.
I can't wait to paint their little nails and braid their hair.
I can't wait to buy them a doll house with a little pretend family...I LOVED my doll houses and everything had to always be perfectly in place (hmm...just like now!)!
I can't wait to play barbies and dress and un-dress the barbies a million times in one day. Oh and a barbie van too, of course.
I can't wait to see their eyes light up when they see something princessy or pink ruffled that they just have to have.
I can't wait to watch them discover who they are in this world.
I can't wait to teach them how to ride a bike, roller-blade, ice-skate and tie their own shoes.
I can't wait to take them on horseback-rides!
I can't wait to watch them splash around in the bathtub and then catch them coming down the slides at the pool. I must have caught Michael a thousand times coming down the slide always thinking about catching my own little rascal one day with a big smile on his/her face.
I can't wait until they are big sisters one day (God willing) and pretend to have babies in their bellies. They will be the best little mommies.
I can't wait until they say Momma and then when I am the only one in the whole wide world that will make them feel better.
I can't wait to read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas to them each year on Christmas eve and watch them put cookies out for Santa and scurry to bed in hopes that Santa will come.
I can't wait to have "mother daughter walk talks".
I can't wait to watch them discover Jesus and take them to church.
I can't wait to teach them how to be a good friend.
I can't wait to watch their relationships with their sisters.
I can't wait to watch the special relationship they each will have with their daddy.
I can't wait to go fishing as a family, teach them how to bait a hook and cast a line!
I can't wait to build a snowman and make snow angels with them on a snow day and then come in and have hot chocolate with marshmallows.
I can't wait to have three pairs of shoes by my door and a floor full of mud.
I can't wait to have three little umbrellas and go out and splash in warm summer puddles with mud boots!
I can't wait to hear six little piggies running down the stairs each morning.
I can't wait to see what talents they'll each have!
I can't wait to fill my house with family photos over the years!
I can't wait to watch them play sports or watch them do whatever it is that they will love.
I can't wait give them responsibilities and teach them things!
I can't wait to shop for a wedding dress with each of them.
I can't wait to watch them fall in love and comfort them when it doesn't work out sometimes.
I can't wait to watch them become Mom's themselves (God willing)!
I can't wait to garden with them and let them explore in the dirt and grow a garden.
I can't wait to see how they love animals and to take them to the zoo.
As a family, Tim and I can't wait to take the girls many places and let them explore around.
We can't wait to take them camping! I LOVE camping and have such fond memories on family camping trips. It will be so fun to roast marshmallows and get all gooey, hunt around at night with flashlights, go fishing, canyoning, sleep in tents, ect...
We also can't wait to take the girls skiing. My family put my sister and I on skis as soon as we could walk and we plan on doing the same (and I just read an article in my ski magazine about putting kids on ski's early is the best to ensure proper skills). Tim is such a great skier and we love to enjoy the beautiful outdoors together. Oh, I can see it now...all bundled up in pink from head to toe, little skis and a big grin... It will be such a fun family event each year for our annual ski trip. Going to the warm indoor pool in the evening, waking up to fresh snow and hot chocolate in the morning, oh such fun times!
And of course to the beach! Little cute pink bathing suits, a pail and shovel, sunglasses and pig tails...oh my, I think my heart is going to jump out of my chest! Three little peanuts all sun-screened up playing in the sand! I can't wait to build sand castles and watch them ride in waves when they grow up!
Disney World - I am counting the days until we can go - Ok, not really but I think I just might be as excited as them when they realize what Disney World is and who lives there. When the girls get their shots at the doctors and they get these little Disney princess bandaids, it makes my heart smile because one day they are going to be in love with the Disney princesses as most little girls are and I can't wait to see their little smiling faces the first time they meet their "idols".
I just can't wait to watch them grow into the beautiful women that they will be in our family!
I was thinking about you the other day when I was devouring Parker with kisses and thinking about how I don't think it's possible to love her any more than I already do, and I though of you with your THREE and how your heart must just ACH with LOVE all of the time! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post, I can't wait for many of those things either, but at the same time I kind of can. I goes SO fast! But how fun to think about our daughter's lives! :)
