I'm still moving things around every few days and hanging more and more on the walls when I come across another random unopened box. I so love this house and haven't missed our old house for one split second!

Madelynn's Appointment

Yesterday was Madelynn's appointment at Children's Hospital Imagining Center.


It was hard.


Really, really, really hard.


Pure hell.


The torture and pain they put my sweet girl through should be outlawed. Not fair at all.


I would vote next time to demand she be put to sleep before anything like this ever again.


I gave her tylenol when we got there to hopefully help a little. They asked if she had a full bladder. Umm...she's 14 months, how would you like me to figure that out?


The ultrasound went fairly good. She was loving the bubbles I brought to keep her occupied. She wanted nothing to do with any of the toys and snacks I brought, but only what the nurse gave her. Right when it was over was when she was loosing interest real quick! She was totally hammin' it up just being in her diaper though!


Next room, was bright and cheerful. Totally what you would expect at a Children's Hospital. However the large machines, table with large velcro straps and all the equipment that would be used, made me cringe. I just kept starring at the table. The velcro. My baby was going to be tied down. Somehow Madelynn was transformed to my big girl by just putting on a real hospital gown. Boy, did she look like a kid! I couldn't believe it. But she is still my baby. And strapping her down so she couldn't move an inch, was not nice. Not nice at all. Her head was in a device, with a strap over her chest, lower-mid-section and two around her legs. Everything was explained slowly, but that didn't make the pain any easier for me or her. The nurses put the catheter in while I tried to keep Madelynn's arms up and legs back. Pure hell. My mom held the portable DVD player with Elmo singing so that Madelynn could somewhat be distracted. Yeah right. Who are they kidding! She threw her binki, she threw her lovie. Her eyes were full of tears, tear after tear rolled down her head, she screamed. Foamed at the mouth. I cried too. It was heart-breaking. I had to wear one of those xray suits and boy was it heavy and hot. I felt like I was pregnant again. I hated every minute of the procedure just as much as she did. They filled and filled Madelynn's bladder with the contrast and I could see how large and uncomfortable it was getting and her screaming escalated. She needed to urinate before they could take the catheter out. It seemed like every minute was an hour. Her little eyes begging me for help. Her little toes all pointed and stressed. No wonder why she couldn't pee. I gave myself five minutes and if she wasn't going to pee, I was stopping the test. It was just too much. Finally the doctor asked for the tech to sprinkle some warm water on her to hopefully help her to pee. Finally it worked. It literally took her five minutes to empty all that was in her. 


I couldn't get those straps off quick enough and pick up my sweet baby. Urine and all. It didn't matter. And after she calmed down, had a snack and some juice, she was completely fine! She was such a trooper. My girls prove more and more to me just how strong they are.


She slept like a rock the whole way home. Even when Grandma gave he a new toy she had bought her while she ran into the grocery store, she just wanted her binki and lovie and to sleep. She was so precious.


Me, on the other hand, well, I needed a few glasses of wine to calm me down once I got home. All Madelynn wanted to do was go to bed and after her bath, she wasn't in her bed five minutes with her bottle before she was out cold. Hard, rough day.


The good news though...everything was one hundred percent completely normal. Praise Jesus!


So, today, we are rejoicing in that wonderful news and loving this little lady's smile!

Product Love: 12 Mos - 15 Mos.

There are lots of things that we are loving in our house these past few months and wanted to pass along the information for others! Some products are more helpful and useful when having multiples, but I still wanted to share.

The girls started ripping off their bibs before the meal even begun many, many months ago and for awhile we went without bibs but the more experimenting they do with food, the more I needed to find a solution. So, these bibs have been a lifesaver. I got a bunch for a few dollars at the MOM's sale and we are loving them!

 

When we eat out. We are loving these place-mats! I love how they suction to the table and collect food that doesn't make it to their mouths. Now, if only they could find a solution to the  "lets throw food everywhere" issue when out at restaurants! I bought one at retail price to see how I liked it and just bought 3 more at the MOM'S sale for a few bucks!

 

Everyone little on seems to have a difference in sippy cup love. We love these two types. All 3 of my girls love both kinds and they are made by Nuby. We have tried a hundred different ones and the least expensive ones are the best! And they are no spill sippy cups, even better! I stocked up on quite a few of them at the MOM'S sale!

 

We recently purchased this little gem. It has made bath time much better with three wild toddlers! All most of the splashing is contained to the tub now and Tim and I no longer need wet-suits to bath our children.

Things we still use daily:

Sound Machines! Best invention ever. Just purchased another one for Emily's room for 5 bucks at the MOM'S sale!


Toys they are loving right now include...their shopping cart (MOM's Sale - $6 bucks!), princess cars, bubbles, big bouncy balls, books, music, blocks, princess ball pit with balls and this new-to-us toy:


 

Of course all the non-essential toys are the best still too...measuring cups, tupperware, water bottles, laundry that's just been folded, the empty laundry basket (of course all the folded laundry needs to be on be floor :) ), boxes and our bin of a hundred bibs.

Some time at the Park!

Last week we had some beautiful 70 degree days and we took advantage of it after nap time to play at the playground!

Oh how these girls LOVE to swing and I love hearing them giggle the whole time!

Even the pooch enjoyed some fresh air...other than the backyard!

Looking forward to more and more spring days this week!!!

Tour Tuesday: The Girl's Rooms and Bathroom!

This is the first of our little "home tour" that I will be doing each Tuesday! I hope you enjoy! Of course everything isn't as perfect as I would like but I have four kids, what do you expect! I barely have any time these days and when I do, well I just want to rest my eyes! HeHe!

These are the girls rooms and bathroom! Oh how I love that they have their own bathroom! 


I love that I decided to paint the walls purple and I love the moldings in both rooms! It's so fun and girly for my little ladies! Both rooms are painted Winter Amethyst by Behr. { Asked by Dale Budd - would you send me an email please! :) } Then in Emily's room there are accent molding pieces on the bottom, but I cannot remember the color. All I know is that it was on the same set of 4 colors as Winter Amethyst at Home Depot.

I love how everything is turning out! I still have some stuff to put on the shelves and on the walls so when I get around to it, I will! Ya know how things go...


{ THE BIG GIRLS ROOM }

I found these knobs at Lowe's and I put them on all the closet doors! I just loved them!

{ EMILY'S ROOM/UPSTAIRS PLAY ROOM }

We still haven't bought a crib for Emily. We will be very soon though!

Still waiting to hang some more stuff on the walls.

{ THE GIRL'S BATHROOM }

The colors aren't coming up great in the photos, I must have had my camera on the wrong setting. The wall color is like a celery, it's really bright and pretty and the accents are in the white and like bubble-gum color pink! It looks so cute in person! I want to get some more wall stuff and bright cheerful, girly things to put in there!

I LOVE seeing three little toothbrushes in their bathroom!
