The Great Frederick Fair

A couple weeks ago we went to The Great Frederick Fair in our town! It was so much fun! Tim and I took the triplets and my wonderful MIL stayed at our house with Emily and Anna. It was so nice to just take "our big girls". We seriously had SO MUCH FUN! My best friend, Kim and her husband Roger joined us too!

{Maddy is in pink, Claire in purple and Natalee in green.}

They LOVE "gunkins".

After the tractors we headed towards all the animals. And good gracious, there were A LOT of animals. The girls could have spent all night just with all the animals. Just seeing the excitement on their faces and running as fast as they could to the sheep, cows, chickens, ducks, goats...they were so excited they could barely get their words out! They have NO fear of any animal. Seriously, they would have stayed and fed the goats hay all night if I had let them!

I loved seeing all the baby chicks!

This momma pig had TWELVE piglets that morning!!!!

And then to the rides we went...once again I was amazed at the excitement in my little girls eyes. In fact, if you ask Claire about the fair, she will tell you, "ferris wheel", "rides" and "cows". Those are the things that stuck for her! They all loved seeing the ferris wheel lit up and were just mesmerized by the lights.

Walking into the rides!

Waiting in line...I had no idea how they would do once they were actually "on" the ride....so I was a little nervous.

Needless to say, they LOVED it! Every time they came around they would say, "hi momma, bye momma!" and wave! I was SO proud! I never know when putting the three of them so close together, it either goes very well or very bad! At any moment, someone can pull someone's hair, pinch, bite...and I was afraid they would just want to jump out of the darn thing!

They laughed the whole time!!!
 And then we came to the next ride. I didn't get to see this ride "in motion", and so I just whisked them on along with the other little kids so they wouldn't have to wait. I could have rode with them, but I wanted them to have their independence, so I decided not to. Well, bad decision! The ride started moving...and I literally almost jumped the freakin' fence! Even my best friend's husband said he will never forget the look on my face! The ride not only moved in a circle but the "air balloon" they were sitting in moved and spun. They were holding on for dear life as I kept screaming, "HOLD ONNNNN GIRLS!!!!!!" every single time the ride came around to where I was. I thought for sure one of them were going to fly out. It was nerve racking and I couldn't take my eyes off of them!

So the next ride, Momma joined. Even this carousel went a little fast for my liking. I was getting a little nauseous by the end of it and I NEVER get nauseous on rides! The girls kept slipping on the seats and I couldn't hold on to each of them at the same time and I was so afraid they would fall off, so once again, I kept telling them to HOLD ON! You know how small the attention span is of a two year old...I was afraid they would see a balloon...and then boom, hit the ground! Luckily that didn't happen!

Went spent a few hours enjoying lots of yummy food and drinks and lots of walking!

My best friend Kim and I with our frozen chocolate bananas. We have been getting these for YEARS, ever since we were teenagers! We kept reminiscing over the "older days" going to the fair when we didn't have husbands and kids...lol!

Terrible photo and we look exhausted!

Goodnight!
