Last week I was honored to stand next to my best friend Kim as Matron of Honor and watch her marry the man of her dreams, Roger! It was a beautiful day and an emotional wedding! I still cannot believe looking back over all the years we have been friends, and now we are both wives! On my wedding day, I remember Kim saying it was two years until hers and that seemed forever away, but here it was already! Time flies!
The day started with a limo taking all of us girls from Poolesville to a hotel near where the wedding and reception were...it was over an hour away so the limo ride was sure nice! The night before, it took Kim and I, during Washington DC Friday night traffic, two hours and fifteen minutes to make it for the rehearsal, so the limo was so wonderful for the day of the wedding!

When we arrived at the hotel, I finally was able to see Kim's wedding gown...I hadn't been able to see it since she picked it out after I was able to come to David's Bridal. I went for her initial two appointments but then was put on bed-rest and was never able to see the actual dress that she chose. I cannot believe I never saw it, but I loved waiting to see it on the big day and I felt like that was even more special.
Needless to say the dress was simply beautiful and stunning!!
Kim got her make-up done, while the rest of us got dressed and decorated their hotel room for Kim and Roger's wedding night!
We then headed over to the country club where the wedding would be held, which was just five minutes away. We helped Kim get dress and got all the last minute details for her walk down the aisle....or so we thought (more on that in a minute)!!
I ran outside to hand over the camera to Tim so he could take photos of the wedding, and then it started!
And then the bridesmaids....
Kayla, Kim's niece
Desi, high school friend
Amanda, high school friend
And then me, the Matron of Honor and the Maid of Honor, Kim's sister, Karen.
And then.....HERE COMES THE BRIDE!
And some wedding ceremony photos...
Saying a few verses, thank goodness it was short and sweet!
And the reception....
Sweetheart Table
Cupcake Tower with Georgetown Cupcakes!
I voted chocolate the best!
Father-Daughter Dance...always makes me tear up! Kim and I are both the BIGGEST Daddy's girls!

It was a wonderful night out and a beautiful occasion to celebrate! We love you Kim and Roger and even though you are moving from across town to the next county, we will still not miss a beat in each other's lives. Madelynn, Claire and Natalee love their Aunt Kim and Uncle Roger too and can't wait for some cousins to play with!!!!!
You look super cute in that Kim Rogers and I am wondering if you tell me from where you bought it. Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures. It's cool to look back on those kinds of memories once in a while, especially weddings, which is where you build and celebrate a lifetime partnership you have forged and formalized. Not to mention having great food, drinks and sights along the way. Anyway, that is really one sleek ride you've got there. That little party in the limo seems really fun. Thanks for sharing!
