First BIG Snow of the Season!

In early December it snowed a good 6-8 inches, which is a good size snow storm for Maryland, as we don't get much snow around here. Sometimes we get an inch for the whole season. Some people hate the snow but I absolutely love it and I always have. I think that it doesn't happen very often, so when it does, I just sit inside and enjoy this wonderful thing God created!

So, after the girls got up from nap, we decided to take them out to play for a little bit. They LOVED it, and once again they surprise me how much they just go with the flow and have fun doing anything new. They wanted to shovel so bad and help Daddy! It was so cute. They played in the snow last year, but let me tell you, it was a miserable experience for all of us...mostly because it was raining!

We had to bribe the girls with treats so they would come in. There were a few tears shed, but all in all it went okay! Hoping for more snow this season so we can play all winter long!

Snow Day { Bust }

Over the past few days, up until this morning, the weather report was for up to 18 inches of very wet snow. The storm, named {why are we naming snow storms now?} Saturn, was supposed to dump a lot of snow, heavy wind and be here for more than 24 hours.

Well....it didn't really work out that way. It snowed, and yes, it was really wet. Oh, and the wind has been pretty bad.

We went over to Tammy's house (she works from home) and Megan took the day off. We bundled up the girls and headed outside. While we were getting everyone dressed, Nana (on her break) fed the girls some waffles with powdered sugar and they were more than happy!

I don't think they could get any cuter in snow pants and their bear hats! Melt my heart!

Maddy is all ready to go!

Even Emme was so excited to go out!
So finally, we ventured outside...the girls went right out and loved it. We only had a few moments of meltdowns..ya know, when gloves fell off, the wind blew them over, or when we pushed them a little too fast and they fell off the sled!

I couldn't believe how much fun they had with being constantly pelted in the face with heavy wet snow...and the strong winds.

And of course there are no photos of me! Oh well! We were all exhausted when we got inside (the girls had the cutest little red cheeks!) and when we went home everyone took great naps (including Momma and Daddy!)! I am so glad we went out early because by the time we woke up from nap everything was pretty much melted and looked like a huge mud pit. I don't understand how all the "models" can predict 15-18 inches of snow and we get barely anything! UGH!

Now...I am ready for spring.
