Hey ya'll! I know I said I would never take another vacation from the blog but things just got crazy around here (imagine that...) and I just let the blog slip....again!
So here is a catch-up...finally!!!
We are back from a week at the beach and although I could stay there forever, real life awaits and we had to come home! Oh well....counting down until next year! Many, many, many photos and blog posts to come all about vacation!

I had wanted to schedule a whole bunch of guest posts for while we were gone but I just got too busy and never scheduled them, so now I am going to be posting a few each week and you are in for some treats! I have some awesome ladies with some great posts so stay tuned!
I have been so busy trying to get our house back in order after we got home late Friday night and finally managed to open the computer for the first time in almost two weeks. TWO.WEEKS. That is a record for me and to say I didn't miss it at all would be the complete truth! I love getting away from the computer and phone...we rely TOO much on it and it's just so nice to not be bothered with any of it once in awhile! Emails, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blogger are NEVER that important and if you think so, you need to re-evaluate your life! How nice it was to take a vacation from all of it (and I don't even have Twitter or Instagram...and never will!)
I won an awesome blog makeover worth $65 dollars from Stephanie and I could not have been more excited. I was literally smiling for days whenever it would cross my mind. It is starting to come to life and to say I am speechless is an understatement! I absolutely LOVE IT!
I'm having a Scentsy and 31 Party in September and I am eagerly planning the food and details. Nothing too fancy, but just a fun time with some awesome ladies! Here's a photo of Emily in one of the 31 bags at the beach...silly girl...I don't know how she got in there...
Last week I had to take Claire to the ER in the middle of the night for the first time and of course that made me super tired and pushed me backwards a hundred feet in getting things done but my little girl needed lots of snuggles and that was most important. She was a brave girl! Details on the blog tomorrow.
Our garden (the one we share with my MIL) is out of control. The tomatoes are so yummy! I may be eating a plate of them covered in mayo almost daily. Yummm. We also made some homemade chili with peppers and tomatoes from the garden this weekend. And I cannot wait to try our HUGE watermelon too!
My SIL, Megan has moved back to MD for at least 6 months! We couldn't be more happy to have her in our lives only 5 minutes away for awhile. She left MD for NM the week after Tim and I were married so she hasn't been around for awhile and I am thrilled that the girls will be getting to know her and that she can be in their lives for awhile. Also, with her wedding approaching, the holidays and their birthdays...I am so glad she will be here during the best months of the year.
Oh and speaking of the holidays and birthdays...I am already in the beginning planning stages of the girls "Two-Two" Birthday Party! I cannot believe my little girls are going to be two! I think the first year was such a blur with triplets, that it didn't hit me as hard as it is this year. I cannot fathom that two years has almost gone by. I don't even remember life before them!
I miss cooking and I am so looking forward to some of my favorite fall recipes and to try some new ones. Almost all of my favorite foods are wintery-type foods so I cannot wait to put on sweaters and start cooking and baking warm dishes. Saturday is the 1st of Sept and everything fall is coming out!
I have a lot of moments that I regret not becoming a teacher and it always rubs me so much during the whole back-to-school-time. I never thought about being a teacher in high school, college or in grad school but I think I would have been a good one. I always wanted to be a nurse, and when that failed, teaching never crossed my mind but I cannot seem to shake it now. I don't regret my 2 degrees in social work and sociology...I love it and MISS it a lot. I swore on everything I am that I would never, ever, ever, EVER go back to school EVER, for anything, EVER, but now I almost want to see what it would take to become a teacher. Maybe I wouldn't need that much since I already have a Master's Degree in a not-so-crazy foreign subject in relations to teaching. I don't know, just a feeling I have. But I will not be home-schooling my children. No. Never. Not for this Momma. I'm sure their are benefits to it, but the public or private school (most likely I will have them go to a Montessori school) world is the way for my children right now.

Ok...so stay tuned, lots of scheduled posts coming this week and next!
Glad to have you back! I also don't and won't have a twitter or instagram account. That's great news about your SIL moving back! I really wish we lived closer to family (2000 miles apart is TOO far!).
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to have you back!!! It looks great! Congrats mama!!!
ReplyDeleteYou'd have to go to school for maybe a year. The problem would probably be the semester long internship where you aren't paid. But maybe once your kiddos are in school it could be a possibility. And if you can, send your kids to school in mcps. It really is a great school system.
