Take Your Child to Work Day!

For as long as I can remember, I always went with my dad to "take your daughter to work day" (and then they changed it to "take your child to work day"). He works at Lockheed Martin headquarters in Bethesda, MD, as where my husband has worked too for the past five years. My dad has worked there since I was two years old, so he knows just about everyone, although a lot has changed, especially after 9/11. I remember when I was pretty young, maybe late elementary school or early middle school when there would only be a handful of kids attending with their parents and then quickly it became a BIG deal, with lots of kids. They had activities and lots of fun things for kids to do, but I pretty much always wanted to stay with my dad. 

It was always such a highlight each spring to go with my dad for the day. I remember planning out what I was going to wear and having to get up really early to go with him. I always got to wear my own badge, which was super cool when you are ten! The highlight of the day was getting to order anything I wanted for breakfast and lunch from the big cafeteria. It was always so great and then getting to eat in the dinning room, it was quite a big deal. Having candy bars from the snack machine, or having some of the sweet ladies give out candy on their desks...those little things, ya know.

I love having those memories with my dad and being able to go to work with him on certain occasions.

This year I tried to bribe my dad and Tim to take the girls with them to work and they both literally laughed at me! I was hoping to get a day off...Haha! Maybe one year they will enjoy going with Papa and Daddy...it won't be too bad to take all five girls! HAHA...right, like that will ever happen!!! One day, hopefully, when they are all bigger they will get to create those same memories with their Daddy!

Catch-Up: Our Weekend!

I feel like I get on a roll with posting and then boom, I drop off the deep end (which would actually never happen because I HATE deep water with a passion - were talking, even the pool.) Any who...we have had a nice relaxing weekend at home, which was nice. I get stir-crazy so easily, since I don't get out much, but sometimes it really is just nice not to go anywhere!

On Friday, I got to take the girls to Pump It Up...it's a local play place that has lots of blown-up moon-bounce-type-things. It was sponsored by our local Infants and Toddlers and even though we aren't a part of INT anymore, they still let us come, which is seriously so nice of them! Let's just say the girls had more fun in the two hours we were there than their entire life combined. They jumped and bounced, and jumped and bounced...the whole time. They play so well without me, I must say I am very blessed. There were so many kids who would not leave their parent's side or get in any bouncy-thing and my girls are like, "bye bye momma...were playing!!!" They went up the tallest ladders and slid down the biggest slides....even so many of our therapists were like, "I cannot believe your little peanut Natalee who is 19lbs can climb all the way up there!!!" I'm like, "yeah, don't let her little self fool you!!" The girls had fun throwing balls and playing with all of the different toys! It was seriously so fun! I got a little nausea while sitting in one of the bounce houses for awhile but it passed. I was so lucky that Emily had so much fun playing on the floor (she did go in the bounce house but only when I was in there!) and riding on the toy cars. She amazed me going back and forth on the toy cars..and we have three of them at home and she has never done that. I was so proud of her. She also got lots of cuddles from one of our INT therapists and for that I was thankful because I got to run around chasing after the trio! I cannot wait to take Tim with us next time, she is going to be shocked at all the strength the girls have to do some of the activities!

Here are just a few photos that I took with my phone. I didn't even bother bringing my big camera because I knew I wouldn't have time to take photos and honestly, I do not like my expensive camera sitting where I am not watching it at every second. I would die if something happened to it!

On our way out the girls got a snack and then we picked up MCD for lunch. The girls ate better than they have in weeks. Some nuggets, fries, cucumbers, apple slices...they were in heaven. And then they slept til almost 5pm, which I normally wouldn't let them do but I knew they were absolutely exhausted....and so was I!

Saturday we stayed home and Nana came over to visit! The girls were super happy about that! I got a lot of cleaning and laundry done, which after I turned around and it was all done, I was like, "WOW, this place was a mess!" After nap time, we all ventured in the car and drove down to Rockville to drop off a toy bin that another awesome bloggy Momma wanted. It was so awesome to meet her and her sweet little ones in person!! Her babies were born on the same exact day, one year apart! I am hoping we can get together sometime soon and let our kids play!

Sunday, we had a relaxing day at home and the girls snuggled with Daddy before breakfast. Love this photo I snapped of them watching ESPN with their Daddy. 

Natalee is on a "DA-EEEEEE" kick right now. Everything is, "I ove Da-eee" and "where da-eee?" and "my da-eee"...ALL.DAY!!!!! She even calls out for him when she is in bed at night...."da-eeee, da-eeeee". MELT.MY.HEART!!! She must say "I love da-eee" one hundred times a day!

Again, Nana came over to play and Tim went to play golf. Yes, in the 45 degree, wet weather....but he had fun so that's all that matters!

Today, I get to see little Miss Anna-Kate at my appointment so I am excited for that! I will post any photos I get, if I do.

My Little Girls LOVE Dirt.

No amount of pearls or hair bows will take away the fascination my girls have with dirt and mulch.

It's okay though. As long as they still want to play dress up with me and have tea parties.


The past few days they have been making a huge dirty mess quite the helpers at Nana's house planting flowers, digging holes and putting down mulch.


I had to just let them be. Put my cleanliness aside. Let them have fun. 


Go for it girls. Daddy was so proud. And at least they were occupied for more than ten seconds in one place.

Luckily it came right off in the tub!

They didn't want their new toy kitchen.


They didn't want their new outdoor house.


Or all the toys.


Or even the new big wheels bike Nana bought them.

Just the dirt, mulch, leaves...niiiiiceee.


And to dig like a dog.

However, Natalee is not a fan. She does not like to get dirty or be in the grass. She wouldn't let us barely put her down on the grass. She may get that from her Momma, just sayin'.


Thank goodness for Nana's big jacuzzi tub!

So later when we go fishing and they don't want to touch worms, I'll show them these photos.


Especially this supposed little lady, Claire. Oh Claire, please tell me you will love pearls too?!

I guess I should just assume as long as they wear their pearls in the dirt, that will be good enough.

Helping Daddy with Fantasy Football!

Saturday evening Natalee helped Daddy make "her" fantasy football team,

"Team Natty Bo"!

On Sunday, Claire made "her" team, "Team Claire's Bears" and Madelynn made "her" team, "Team Gatar"!

We'll see who wins!!
